For active-duty military members transitioning to civilian life, the SMART Heroes program offers a streamlined pathway into the sheet metal industry. By completing this specialized training, you’ll gain Direct Entry into our apprenticeship program, allowing you to bypass traditional application steps and quickly immerse yourself in hands-on training, earn competitive wages, and build a stable, fulfilling career. If you’re a veteran connected with the Helmets to Hardhats program or not involved with SMART Heroes, we welcome your application through our standard process. This includes completing the entrance exam and participating in our interview process. Veterans may upload their DD214 as part of the application to ensure they are properly identified and considered. Upon successful completion of the application and interview, eligible candidates will be placed on our list for potential entry into the apprenticeship program.
